      His marriage mania -- four wives in six years, three of them illegal ? landed
      Andrew Peter Kemmett, 29, of Ossington Ave. in court again yesterday for his third conviction for bigamy.

      Kemmett, alias MacDonald, will be sentenced Dec. 30 for his third bigamous marriage, to which he pleaded guilty. Meanwhile, he will have to remain in custody since his guilty plead precluded possibility of bail.

      ? Is there any reason why you have this mania for doubling [? ],? asked Magistrate Prentice when he remanded Kemmett.

      ? I was thinking of a home for my little girl,? was the quiet reply. Kemmett has three children, all by his first wife, formerly, Edith Joyce Cassim. An attractive brunette, neatly garbed, she was in court for his trial and at his request to speak to her, she went back to the cell to talk with him on his removal from the prisoners? dock.

      Married to her in Kingston in 1941, Kemmett married another girl in 1943 and was sentenced to six months for bigamy. He married again, in 1946 and received an
      18-month term. Meanwhile, it was discovered that, in 1945, midway between the two jail terms, he married Alice S[h]ayer, of Capreol, on July 5, 1945 under the name MacDonald. It was this bigamy charge to which the pint-sized Romeo pleaded guilty of bigamy.
