George Michael Heaney of Chico, California entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 3, 2019. George was born on May 9, 1948, in Lakewood, Ohio to the late George Vincent Heaney and Annabelle Isabelle McDonough. He was the eldest of eight children.
George’s loving sister, Mary Jo Heaney, predeceased him but many family members survived him.
Two loving brothers: Christopher Heaney and girlfriend Janet living in Chico, CA and John (Jack) Heaney and wife, Gail, residing in Los Molinos, CA.
Four loving sisters: Eileen Salter residing in Lakewood, OH; Annabelle Heaney and spouse, Rhonda, living in Evansville, IN; Colleen Watts and spouse, Jayson, residing Colorado Springs, CO; and Kate Blevins and fiancé, Dave, living in Parker, CO.
An Aunt, Eileen Hout, residing in Lakewood, OH along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends across the country.
George was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He received two purple hearts and several service medals in combat. After returning from the war, he started employment working for the Bermite Power Company that produced ammunition, detonators, and rocket motors in Saugus, Ca. George also managed a Schlitz bottling company.
George enjoyed life to the fullest. Some of his favorite things were camping, ATVs, motorcycles, old movies, hanging out with his friends at VFW hall, and a good shot of whiskey.
George had a very special bond with his brother Christopher. They were inseparable and constantly together. They spent over twenty years; side-by-side.
